SEEDS OF FAITH COMMUNITY GARDEN NEWSLETTER

JUNE 2013

Growing Again

The garden is filled with a variety of lettuces, radishes, carrots, kale, sugar snap peas, arugula, and onions as wellharvesting_2013 as tomatoes and green beans.  Carried over from last year are cilantro and chives. There is still time to sign up for a new year of gardening and enjoying fresh produce.  We look forward to seeing everyone at the garden. Soon there will be garden brochures in the Narthex, outside Betty’s office, at the sign-in table @ The Table and in the display box under the Seeds of Faith Mailbox in the garden.  Don’t know about you, but my family enjoys the high quality fresh as can be harvest.  It is one of the best ways to invest $10 and 10 Hours.

Plant a Row for the Hungry

Again this year Seeds of Faith Garden is sharing our bounty with those less fortunate.  Because our garden is over a year old we are ahead of last year’s donations. Already more than 50# of fresh produce has been delivered to Logan’s Hardware for distribution for feeding the hungry in our community.

Water, Water, Everywhere

Seeds of Faith needs watering volunteers.  Watering our newly planted vegetables is an easy way to complete the 10 hour volunteer requirement.  Contact Keith Cassel at 919-851-6508 or dkc919@gmail.com for further information.

"Staying close to the soil is good for the soul." Hope to see you in the garden.
