Youth
Sunday School
There are two Sunday school classes for youth, middle school and high school students. Both classes meet in the lower level of the church during the normal Sunday school hour (9:30AM Sunday Mornings)
Confirmation Class
A nine month Confirmation Class is offered in three year grouping on Sunday mornings for our 6th – 8th grade youth, based on demand. During this time, the youth explore what it means to profess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and join the church.
Youth Fellowship
Western Blvd’s youth group meets Sunday Evenings from 5:30 PM until about 7:00 PM. The group is made up of Middle and High school students. Youth group meetings usually include a short program, and dinner.
Over the course of a year, the youth participate in worship, service, fellowship and fun. Topics relevant to the lives of the youth are incorporated into the Sunday night programs and discussions.
Ned and Miranda helped older attendees at the New Hope Presbytery meeting go to the lower level for dinner and back.
Retreats and Mission Trips
Recently the youth of our church have been quite active in service projects. Many youth helped with the
Stop Hunger Now Food packing event. The picture on the right show several youth packing food bags. In addition to local service projects the youth have gone on Mission Trips. The youth returned from their fifth trip to the Gulf Coast on June 26, 2010. Twelve youth and 5 adults went to the Gulf Coast in 2010. Prior to leaving, many of the youth helped with VBS. In fact there were 16 youth who helped with VBS in 2010. In some earlier years the youth of the church have participated in events such as the Montreat Youth Conference, Masanetta Middle School Conference, and Presbytery retreats.
