Presbyterian Beliefs
Presbyterians share many beliefs in common with all Christians, and we are a product of the Protestant Reformation along with Methodists, Lutheran, etc. Of course we have our own distinctive beliefs and practices.

VISION STATEMENT (2007-2014)
Western Boulevard Presbyterian Church
As we seek to more fully realize our mission for the immediate future, we prayerfully, and in a spirit of joy and hope, commit to enhance our current ministry, as well as:
Deepen and enhance our spiritual lives.
Nurture a relevant and vital Christian identity in our children, youth, and families.
Invite and embrace the diversity in our surrounding community.
Expand our worldwide mission involvement.
Better utilize church property for fellowship and community outreach.
Ministry Goals and Objectives (2007-2014)
1. GOAL: Deepen and enhance our spiritual lives
OBJECTIVES:
(a) Continue to enhance worship as the central, most dynamic aspect of our life together.
(b) Teach and promote prayer as a vital aspect of our congregational and individual lives.
(c) Develop more small groups for Bible study and prayer.
(d) Educate and nurture all members in the development of spiritual disciplines.
(e) Preach and teach life-changing stewardship.
(f) Teach and discover mission/outreach as central to our Christian faith.
(g) Challenge each member to share their spiritual gifts.
(h) Further seek, discern, and promote God’s will in ALL areas of our lives.
2. GOAL: Nurture a relevant and vital Christian identity in our children, youth and families.
OBJECTIVES:
(a) Strengthen our youth fellowship program with emphasis on leadership development.
(b) Establish an additional worship service that nurtures diverse ages and cultures.
(c) Implement annual mission trips for youth and local mission opportunities for children.
(d) Offer on-going parenting classes and/or support groups.
(e) Offer more “family-friendly” fellowship events.
3. GOAL: Invite and embrace the diversity in our surrounding community
OBJECTIVES:
(a) Add more staff and staff hours to evangelism and community outreach.
(b) Organize an Evangelism Committee.
(c) Build understanding by exploring the value of differences.
(d) Strengthen our support of our weekday preschool and families.
(e) Reach out to college students in the neighborhood.
(f) Increase our involvement and support of existing outreach programs.
4. GOAL: Expand worldwide mission involvement.
OBJECTIVES:
(a) Plan an international mission trip every other year.
(b) Invite missionaries or mission “interpreters” for educational and discernment purposes.
(c) Develop a partnership with a church in another part of the world.
(d) Reach out to international college students.
5. GOAL: Better utilize church property for fellowship and community outreach.
OBJECTIVES:
(a) Develop and implement plans for use of outdoor areas.
(b) Provide outdoor activities for members and community.
(c) Encourage all members to use our grounds for worship, meditation, and fellowship.
